My Birthday

Today was my 43rd birthday. I announced today that I like the idea of celebrating THE DAY...October 20 has always been special for me, as birthdays are for most folks, but I really could do without adding the extra year to my age. That part stinks. My mother is supposed to be 43, not me. In fact, that is probably the first age that I really remember my mother being. I was ten, and my sister, Diane, had a boyfriend whose football number was 43. Diane constantly wore his blue jersey with giant white digits of 43 on it. Mama was reminded of her age every time she saw my sister. Lee B--forty-three; that was the chant we'd say.

Anyway getting back to the day. What fun it was for me, because my husband and kids made it that way! Sweet little love notes were posted all around from my husband, and my boys wished me "Happy Birthday" in numerous ways all day. More later, I want to try to upload the pictures taken from my birthday party--a transgressed lunch/dinner. In an attempt to please everyone and work around others' schedules, we planned a 3:30 deal, much to the chagrin of the restaurant who was changing shifts and menus at the time. Regardless, we had a merry ol' time on Main Street in Alpharetta before Chris had to shuffle Braeden off to baseball practice.

Okay, got a few pix on but had to do it one at a time until I learn the shortcuts. I want to thank Sunny for the e-card and phone phone phone call call call this evening. With such bad reception on the cell phone, she said she could only hear every third word I was saying. I decided we could cure "cell hell" simply by saying each word three times, and then the message should certainly be transmitted. Wish you could have been with us, Sunshine. Speaking of sunshine, what is with this summer weather on October 20? Pass out the Coppertone!

Thanks also to KakiT!!!! An e-card, a surprise courier delivering a CAKE from Roswell Road, and a card with our own little private joke on it...how in the world she found that! What a hoot! Thanks to Jan Craig for remembering me today too and her sweet e-card. Great friends surround me and lift me up with their words and prayers. Thanks you guys! When I got home I had a sweet card and birthday money from my mother-in-law. Look out, Chico's; Nisie's coming shopping soon. :) Got a new Sony Walkman so I can keep up with my talk radio obsession. Everyone here is already in bed, so I think I'll put my earbuds in and listen to a little "Savage Nation" to lull me to sleep. HA! Good night, all. Thanks for a great birthday.

You should add pictures from your birthday this year!
I just prayed for you this morning, thinking how this time last year you were celebrating with your mom. :(
She's celebrating over you with HIM this year. I love you!
